我們或許能理解每天抽出時間來靈修的重要性。但當我們和別的基督徒聚在一起分享如何在神的話語中得到更新，靈修會提昇到完全不同的境界。我們一起讀經、禱告、活出 神的話語。 自從我父親離世進入永恆，到今年三月已有整整一年了。幾年前當我在華人恩典聖經教會開始使用「活潑的生命」靈修時，我父親也加入了。每週我們一起談論和禱告有關我們從靈修默想中的反思，所涉及的聖經涵蓋了約翰福音、列王記上下、撒母耳記上下、箴言、傳道書、以弗所書、啟示錄等書卷。我們的討論有很好的互動，甚至繼續到飯桌上，並且吸引了他的孫子(也就是我兒子)的參與。我們全家都見證了我父親在最後幾年對 神的追求和渴慕。我很驚訝地看到一個生命在我面前的轉變。他的信心加增，並且為他人的救恩禱告。在 神賜給他僅剩的年日裡，他的謙卑更為明顯。更重要的是，他是為未來的永恆作準備。我們不單單是一起靈修，我們更是共同建造我們的生命。 過去兩年，我經常在早晨和晚上和教會的一些弟兄們一起靈修。以 神的話語為基礎，幾位弟兄雖然處在不同的人生階段，都得到了啟發，各自經歷了更深的肢體生活。我們都曾經歷過人生最困難和最美好的時刻。一位弟兄不僅經歷了他信心的更新，更是再次恢復他服事的活力。我們一同見證在 神話語中追求聖潔，如何得以持續地讓我們謙卑並雕塑我們的心靈。 每週，國語組的靈修小組都充滿了笑聲和洋溢的笑臉。我知道並非是因為我們的幽默感，而是所有參與者的靈修已經滲透在他們的生活和思想中。儘管他們把生活中的獲益歸功於我的分享，我其實更多地得益於他們面容上反射出在主裡的喜樂。 在每個基督徒的生活中，我們常常把靈修簡化成為達成某個結果的方法，或者看為教課的必要預備。我們甚至因為生活步調或者服事太繁忙，而把靈修時間擠出去了。但是當我們按主耶穌在清早起來親近父神的榜樣作為提示（馬可福音1:35），我們將會發現這就是個人更新的模式。當我們打開心門與別人分享 神的話語，也讓別人來激勵我們，我們就從單單地讀 神的話語進深到活出 神的話語。這就是生命影響生命。
